Community Volunteer Opportunities
Community >
Volunteering
Numerous organizations exist in East Jefferson County that thrive because
local people commit their talents and time to these causes. This is
one of the primary reasons Port Townsend and the surrounding area
are so rich with cultural, environmental, recreational, social and
family programs and events. The opportunities for you to find something
to devote energy toward are endless. We encourage you to contact one
of these groups and volunteer!
If you are a community group that is looking for
volunteers, please let us know and we will add your group and description
to this list. Contact Jon at webmaster@ptguide.com.

Help beat cancer by volunteering for the American Cancer Society Relay For
Life of Jefferson County.
What is the American Cancer Society?
The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary
health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health
problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from
cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.
What is Relay For Life?
Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate
survivorship and raise money for research and programs of your American
Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools,
fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team

There are lots of ways to volunteer with Relay For Life!
Be a Committee Member Volunteer: Volunteers will be needed year round to
help plan the Relay For Life event!
Day-Of Volunteer Opportunities: We can use your help with a variety of fun
jobs the day of the Relay For Life.
Start a team: Your family, friends, company, church or other organization
can volunteer as a group or organize a team and raise money for the
American Cancer Society.
