Port Townsend & East Jefferson Education

Many types of educational opportunities exist in the Port Townsend area, from day care, pre-school and kindergarten to college-level. There are also numerous vocational programs for learning a unique skill no matter what your age or experience. See sections in the navigation on the left.

Several alternative education options, including three private schools (Littlefoot, Swan School and Olympic Range Carden Academy/ORCA), a multi-age, parental-involvement program through the public school (the OPEPO and ICE programs), and a very active home-schooling group give children a wide variety of choices for their early educational needs. There are also a number of youth programs available, from dancing to theatre and outdoor educational opportunities.

Teens have numerous options as well including the local public school system and some innovative programs, such as Mar Vista, that work with them.
