WACKY, WILD, FUNNY AND SURPRISING STORIES AT P.T. SHORTS SATURDAY EVENING

"The best work of literature to come out of Israel in the last five thousand years, better than Leviticus and nearly as funny" said a review of the work of Etgar Keret. whose stories will be featured  Saturday evening, April 7, at Port Townsend Shorts in the Cotton building, 647 Water Street, at 7:30 p.m. Veteran actors Erin Lamb, Ian Keith, Sheila Khalov and Don White will read. The event is free to the public.

Keret is an Israeli writer whose work includes movies and television. His writing is filled with weird, funny and wonderful characters that always surprise the reader. " The stories are often short and punchy." said Don White director of this month's readings. "They may be three pages long but they are filled with wit, invention, and hilarious situations".

Erin Lamb, named the best actor on the peninsula in 2010 by the Kitsap Sun, will read "For only 9.99 (inc. tax and postage)" where a young man learns the meaning of life, the reason for our existence, and lots more in one thin book.

Ian Keith a veteran P.T. Shorts reader and recently seen in Checkov's "The Seagull", will read about parents that shrink as their son grows, in "Pride and Joy" and a steely professional hit man who has a soft spot in his heart in "Good Intentions".

A sweet story about a child who wants to join the circus in "The Flying Santinis", and a personal experience with the ten plagues in "Plague of the First Born", will be read by Sheila Khalov. She has been a frequent reader of radio plays at P.T. Shorts and was seen at the Key City Public Theatre in "Harvey".

Don White will read about a beautiful woman by day and a fat hairy man by night in "Fatso", and a big surprise in "Crazy Glue". White is a veteran Key City Public Theatre, and Paradise Theratre actor and a frequent reader at P.T. Shorts.
