Bicycle Event in Port Townsend

Port Townsend is a fabulous area to bicycle. From an in town spin through the Historic District to longer rides on the rural roads, there are a wealth of both mountain and road bike options. Adventure Cycling tours, Backroads Touring, the Lung Association's Tri-Island Trek and many other entities use Port Townsend as a starting point or attraction on organized rides. PT is a perfect starting point for a tour around the Olympic Peninsula! In 2008 the City of Port Townsend was awarded a Bicycle Friendly Community Bronze Award from the League of American Bicyclists.

Bicycle Friendly Community

A BMX track at the H.J. Carroll Park gives local bike riders a place to enjoy this affordable non-motorized sport. The track is designed like a mini mountain range in the midst of this beautiful family park in Chimacum. Mountain bikers will enjoy the trails at Gibbs Lake, Anderson Lake State Park and a variety of trails around town.

In spring, don't miss the Rhody Bicycle Tour sponsored by the Port Townsend Bicycle Association. Here's a great chance to see our area from the seat of a bike!
