| Set sail and embark on six or twelve-day sailing adventures departing from Port Townsend, vacations for adults or families and sail-training for youth ages 12-18. The 6-day trips, in the San Juan Islands, are close to home just across the Strait of Juan de Fuca and in protected inland waters. For the 12-day trips, Alcyone will head up the inside passage to Desolation Sound in British Columbia. Alcyone is a 82 ft. gaff-rigged schooner: a roomy, comfortable, traditional vessel that offers groups of up to 6 people a memorable sailing adventure. Our adult and family trips are geared to the desires of our guests. For youth, sail-training aboard the Alcyone includes sailing, navigation, marlin spike seamanship, chart reading, standing watches, small boat handling, knot tying and rigging; student crew are exposed to all this as well as swimming, exploring and adventure. | |
