Port Townsend Woodworker's Show 2009
November 07, 2009 - November 08, 2009
STARTS: Sat: 11:00am - 8:00pm; Sun 11:00am - 3:00pm
LOCATION: Legion Hall (at the junction of Water and Monroe).

The 4th annual Port Townsend Woodworkers Show will take place on the weekend of November 7-8, 2009, at the American Legion Hall in Port Townsend. The doors will be open from 11am-8pm on Saturday (including Gallery Walk) and 11am-3pm on Sunday. Admission is free to the public.

The show is organized and presented by "The Splinter Group" - a loose-knit collective of woodworkers with the mission statement: "Dovetailing two communities - Woodworkers and Port Townsend." Splinter Group members are local professional woodworkers John Boles, Steve Habersetzer, Michael Hamilton, Bob Larson, Tim Lawson, John Marckworth and Seth Rolland.

The purpose of the show is to introduce Port Townsend to the community of varied and talented woodworkers that exists in its midst, and to provide an opportunity for woodworkers to present their work directly to the public in a relaxed and informal setting. Exhibitors include furniture and cabinetmakers, luthiers and instrument makers, boat builders, carvers, sculptors and turners. Last year's show was a resounding success, with an estimated audience of more than 1800 touring the exhibits over the course of the weekend. This year's show will feature new work, and new exhibitors in addition to returning artists.

In addition to the Splinter Group, sponsors of the 2009 show include Edensaw Woods, Ltd., Carl's Building Supply, Hadlock Building Supply, Henery Do It Best Hardware, Townsend Builders, and the Port Townsend School of Woodworking.
